The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the change in the amount of state losses in the alleged corruption in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the COVID-19 pandemic was caused by a different calculation process during the investigation.

This was explained by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika when asked about the state losses in this case which reached Rp300 billion. This amount is different from what was conveyed in January, which was around Rp625 billion.

"In the past, this figure (Rp625 billion, ed) was a potential loss during the investigation," said Tessa when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, July 4.

Tessa said the figure was not the result of an investigative audit. In addition, this number does not take into account the PPE that has been sent to the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) but has not been paid to PT PPM as a private party.

"So the state loss, red) changes because it is currently being calculated," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Moreover, the state losses conveyed by Tessa are still not final. "It is still calculated by BPKP," he explained.

Previously reported, the KPK named three suspects in the corruption case in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) whose investigations were carried out since September 2023. The amount of state losses reached hundreds of billions of rupiah.

"The KPK has named three suspects with alleged state losses of Rp. 300 billion," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 3.

Tessa did not specify the identities of the suspects in this case. However, from the information circulating they are former Commitment Making Officers (PPK) and Head of the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health Budi Badika; President Director of PT Permana Putra Mandiri (PPM), Ahmad Taufik and President Director of PT Energi Kita Indonesia (EKI), Satrio Wibowo.

The project value in this case reached Rp3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages. A total of eight people were prevented from leaving the country, namely Budi Badhi as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah, who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.

Furthermore, last June also prevented SLN, which is a doctor and two private parties, namely ET and AM.
