JAKARTA - Russian missile and drone attacks in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro killed four civilians and injured 27 others.

Attacks also damaged kindergartens, schools, and hospitals and caused fires.

"This morning was not good for us. The enemy has launched a joint attack on our city," Serhiy Lysak, governor of the area around Dnipropximsk, said in a video posted on the Telegram messaging app.

Eleven injured people have been taken to hospital and two are in serious condition.

Lysak uploaded pictures of emergency workers cleaning glass shards and putting out the fire.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russian forces targeted the Dnipropxisk region with seven missiles and five Shahed drones. Air defenses are said to be capable of firing down five missiles and all drones.

Jota Dnipro's mayor, Borys Filatov, announced a day of mourning on Thursday, July 4.

He said two schools and three kindergartens were damaged and several windows were broken.

Missile debris hit a child's hospital and two other hospital buildings were damaged. Commercial buildings were also damaged, officials said.
