PKB Receives Sandiaga Uno's Proposal To Advance In West Java Regional Head Election

Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid said he would consider proposals to carry figures outside the party, such as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno to become a candidate for governor of West Java.

Jazilul said the proposal came from PKB cadres in the regions as well as people from West Java (West Java).

"For West Java, we have searched for internal PKB cadres who may be proposed to run like Pak Cucun, Pak Huda. However, there are aspirations such as those from some West Java people and also PKB cadres to invite Pak Sandiaga Uno to become a candidate for governor of West Java," said Jazilul Fawaid, Tuesday, July 2.

He added that Sandiaga Uno had descendants from West Java. PKB itself admits that it is still considering proposals so that Sandiaga Uno can be carried in the 2024 West Java Pilkada.

"Because Mr. Sandiaga is also his mother, West Java. However (the proposal) needs to be explored further, because whatever the election is one of the levels of complexity, the first is to find a coalition party, the second is looking for a partner," he added.

Previously, PPP politician Sandiaga Uno admitted that he had had informal chats with a number of parties related to the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada). He is waiting for a letter of assignment to advance in the regional elections.

"If the chat with several parties has been discussed informally, but if we look at it formally, no one has stepped into the formal stage and in the next few months, this is preparation. So we'll just have to wait, the decision from the leadership of a political party," said Sandiaga Uno at the Presidential Palace. Jakarta, Monday.

Rumored to be taking the pilkada stage in a number of areas, Sandiaga Uno admitted that he was still waiting for a letter of assignment from PPP.

"We'll wait for the assignment letter, where I am now focusing on the ministry, I haven't got the task yet," he said.

Currently, continued Sandi, PPP is still considering a number of things. The reason is, PPP failed to get a seat in the DPR in the 2024 election.

"Of course we have our own considerations, because yesterday we focused on getting seats in the DPR, now we have entered the pilkada stage, of course we want to make the best contribution so that regional elections can produce regional leaders," he said.
