Regarding Supporting Anies Baswedan In The DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election, PDIP: Top Priority Of Party Cadres

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has not yet decided to carry Anies Baswedan in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. Because, it will prioritize cadres from internal parties.

"PDI Perjuangan ini adalah partai yang digelolakan oleh semangat untuk mendorong kader partai melalui proses pelembagaan partai, sekolah partai. Sehingga skala prioritas utama adalah kader partai yang kita pasukan baru kemudian dibuka sebuah ruang," ujar Sekjen PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto kepada wartawan, Sabtu, 29 Juni.

According to him, preparations for the contestation of the Jakarta Pilkada must be mature because the hegemony resembles the national level. In fact, the competition will be very tight.

"Historically, Jakarta has a very important strategic role related to its role in the dynamics of national politics, the national economy, Jakarta is very strategic. So that the party is careful in maintaining it thoroughly," he said.

Therefore, Hasto said that PDIP did not want to be careless in making decisions. All the names that will be carried will be discussed by various elements until later it is decided by General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"For DKI, who can't necessarily get it fast, who does the calculations carefully, takes consolidation steps, making movement down that's what the people trust," said Hasto.

PDIP is said to be supporting Anies Baswedan in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada contestation.
