Chairman Of PAN Denies PKS Claims About Jokowiodorkan Kaesang Maju Pilgub Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) claims that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has offered the name of the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) as well as his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep to run for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan denied the rumors of Jokowi's offer. In fact, according to him, it was his party who had asked Kaesang to run for the Jakarta Pilkada but was immediately rejected by Jokowi.

"I've asked how Mr. Kaesang is like this, not Mr. Zul. How to tell, I just asked Mr. Jokowi to say no, so it's not true that he ordered it," said Zulhas at the PAN DPP Office, Jakarta, Saturday, June 29.

Zulhas then questioned the Secretary General of PKS, Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi, who claimed to have received the offer from Jokowi. Because according to him, PKS has never once met Jokowi.

"Ah, it's not true. When did the Secretary General of PKS meet Pak Jokowi, did you know where he came from, when did he meet him. How come it was like he had chatted like that, never. I met him, was it me or was it true there? That's it," said the Minister of Trade.

Previously, PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Al Habsyi said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had offered the name of his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, to be supported by the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

This was conveyed by Aboe when asked about Kaesang, who Jokowi might offer to be the deputy governor of Ridwan Kamil (RK) for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, whose flashlights will be carried by the parties of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

"Already, it has offered (the name Kaesang). We'll see," said Aboe when he was present at the PKS Leadership School Closing ceremony at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 27.

According to Aboe, Jokowi's jokes in political contestation are common. For example, said Aboe Kawe-cawe Jokowi in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres).

"It's normal to mess around from the president until later, you can. So there's no problem, let it go," said Aboe.

Even so, Aboe did not answer further and in detail about who Jokowi had offered the name Kaesang for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. "Everywhere," said Aboe.
