Bogor City Police, West Java Police, arrested two construction workers with the initials MH (61) and ML (48) who molested six children aged 10 to 14 years in Sempur Village, Bogor City. Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bogor City Police, Kompol Lutfi Olot Gigantara, revealed that the obscenity was carried out by two perpetrators at the end of April 2024. The victim's parents only reported in early May 2024. "After receiving the report, we conducted an investigation and processed the crime scene (TKP) and managed to identify the two perpetrators and successfully secured them assisted by the surrounding community," Lutfi said. He revealed that the two perpetrators committed the act of obscenity because they were driven by desire and lust. Lutfi explained, both MH and ML molested the girls and boys in the late afternoon, after the two had finished work. The obscenity was carried out by the two at different times at a shop near the construction project where the two of them worked. Meanwhile, children who live in housing around the crime scene often come to the shop. “ The two perpetrators carried out their own actions at different times and the victims were different. So from the results of our examination, there were six victims who were held (his vital organs) or obscene acts, ” he said.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 76 E of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection Jo. Article 82 paragraph (1) and/or paragraph (4) of Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning Second Amendment to Law No. 2002 concerning Child Protection. "For which if the victim is more than 1 person, he will be jailed for 15 years and/or a fine of Rp. 5 billion," said Lutfi.
