The Regent of the Tanimbar Islands, Maluku, for the 2017 – 2022 period with the initials PF alias Petrus was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case and misappropriation of the official travel budget at the Regional Secretariat of the Tanimbar Islands Regency in 2020. "For the alleged corruption case, the use of the official travel budget at the KKT Regional Secretariat (Tanimbar Islands Regency) for the 2020 fiscal year, a series of further investigation processes have been carried out to reveal or obtain the necessary other evidence," said Head of Intelligence for the Tanimbar Islands District Attorney Muhammad Fazlurrahman in an official statement received in Ambon, Antara, Wednesday, June 19. This includes the facts revealed in the trial at the Ambon District Court on behalf of the defendants Ruben Mariolkosu and Petrus Masella. "So that the Tanimbar Islands Kejari investigating team collectively named one new suspect as stated in the Suspect Determination Letter Number B 816/Q.1.13/Fd.2/06/2024 dated June 19, 2024 with the initials PF alias Petrus as the Regent of the Tanimbar Islands for the 2017 &nash; 2022 period," he explained. The value of state financial losses is based on the audit results of the calculation of state financial losses by the Maluku Prosecutor's audit team in the use of the official travel budget at the KKT Regional Secretariat in 2020 number: R-34/Q.1.7/H.III.3/10/2023 dated October 2, 2023 amounting to IDR 1.09 billion. Meanwhile, the value of state financial losses that must be accounted for by PF suspects is Rp314.59 million. The determination of the PF suspect is a continuation of the investigation carried out by the Tanimbar Islands District Attorney against this case based on the KKT Kajari Investigation Order Number Print-03/Q.1.13/Fd.2/01/2023 dated January 30, 2023. "From the results of the investigation, sufficient preliminary evidence has been obtained to determine the suspect," he said. The KKT Kejari is currently also increasing the status of cases of alleged corruption and misappropriation of capital investment funds to PT Tanimbar Energi, which is sourced from the KKT Regional Budget for the 2020 to 2022 fiscal years, from an investigation to an investigation. "The increase in the status of this case to investigation is based on the Investigation Order Number Print-203/Q.1.13/Fd.2/05/2024 dated May 3, 2024," he said.

Currently, the team of investigating prosecutors is collecting other evidence in the form of examining witnesses from each commissioner and board of directors, both from PT TE as the parent company and PT Tanimbar Energi Abadi and PT Tanimbar Energi Mandiri as subsidiaries and local governments that are related to the budget. Previously, the KKT Kejari investigating team examined a number of witnesses related to these two cases, including PF who fulfilled the prosecutor's summons for questioning at the Maluku Prosecutor's Office.
