Prosecutors Reveal Rizieq Shihab Disobeying Rules During Pandemic, Airport Rumbling And Ignoring Independent Quarantine

JAKARTA - Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement so that a crowd appeared in Petamburan, Central Jakarta during the wedding of his daughter Syarifah Najwa Shihab and the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday. The prosecutor also reviewed how Rizieq Shihab disobeyed the rules when he returned to Indonesia.

Rizieq Shihab arrived in Indonesia on November 10, 2020. Rizieq Shihab, according to the prosecutor, should have gone into independent isolation for 14 days according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health. But what happened, the prosecutor called Rizieq Shihab's return, actually created a crowd at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"It turned out that the self-quarantine as stated in the provisions was not carried out by the defendant but the defendant led to a crowd of thousands of people who had come to almost the entire area of Soekarno-Hatta airport and there was no serious and serious effort by the defendant to appeal, prohibit and remind visitors or pick-ups. not to crowd and obey the health protocol that is being enforced in the Jakarta area but instead the defendant joined the crowd at the same time the defendant and others headed to his house in Petamburan, "said the prosecutor reading the indictment letter at the East Jakarta District Court, Friday, March 19.

The crowd also happened when Rizieq Shihab returned to his residence in Petamburan. According to the prosecutor, Rizieq Shihab did not give an appeal or prohibition so that the masses would not crowd which could lead to a new cluster of COVID-19.

"And the defendant should have carried out self-quarantine at his house by handing over the health clearance to the local RT / RW to be forwarded to the puskesmas so that monitoring is easy for the defendant to undergo a self-quarantine period, but the defendant did not do this," said the prosecutor.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement to the appearance of a crowd at his daughter's wedding as well as commemorating the Prophet's birthday in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd takes place in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"Doing, who orders to do and who participates in doing actions in public orally or in writing incites to commit a criminal act of health quarantine as referred to in Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Canteen, committing violence against public authorities or disobeying both the provisions of the Law and The office order is given based on the provisions of the law, ”said the prosecutor reading the indictment at the East Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, March 16.

According to prosecutors, Rizieq Shihab and Haris Ubaidillah, Ahmad Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Idrus alias Idrus Al Habsyi and Maman Suryadi, incited incitement to the emergence of a crowd in Petamburan.

In the indictment, the prosecutor explained that Rizieq Shihab had planned to return to Indonesia to marry his daughter Syarifah Najwa Shibab. This plan was followed up with the formation of a committee, namely Ahmad Sabri Lubis, Ali Alwi Alatas, Haris Ubaidillah.
