Putin Congratulates Eid Al-Adha, Calls Many Good Roles Of Muslims In Russia

JAKARTA - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri to all Muslims. Putin said Eid al-Adha plays a role in uniting the people and encouraging compassion, justice, and mutual understanding in society, as well as highlighting the deep and lasting spiritual values of Islam. "“It is encouraging that the life of Muslims in our country (Russia) is enriched with good charity and effort, as well as new initiatives in the fields of culture, education, and enlightenment," Putin said in his statement via the Telegram platform which was monitored in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, July 17. In addition, Putin said Muslim organizations in Russia pay much attention to strengthening family institutions, and advancing patriotic education for the younger generation. According to him, Russian Muslims are actively providing assistance to soldiers and veterans of special military operations, to their families and friends.

"Moreover, they make a significant contribution to promoting the unity of our people and fostering interethnic and interfaith dialogue in Russia," Putin said.
