Aldi Satya Mahendra Wins WorldSSP300 Italy

JAKARTA - Indonesian motorcycle racer Aldi Satya Mahendra (BrCorse Team) said he was proud to be able to win his first victory this season at the World Supersport 300 (WorldSSP300) racing event in Race 2 Emilia-Romagna, Italy, Sunday 16 June 2024.

"I am very happy because this is my first win of the season," said Aldi in an official statement from the World Superbike (WSBK), Monday, June 17.

According to Aldi, the race was quite difficult because he started the race from 10th position. However, he did not want to give up and continued to strengthen his focus until he reached the highest podium.

I tried to press from start to finish but I had a problem with the rear brake. I just stay focused and try to stay ahead, "said Aldi.

Furthermore, Aldi said this victory gave more confidence to make more achievements in this racing event.

"It's been a long season and I want to stay focused and keep trying to score as many points as possible in every race," he added.

The second race of Emilia-Romagna was originally led by Julio Garcia Gonzalez (Kove Racing Team). However, in most of the race, there were 22 racers who fought for the leading position. The Spaniard finally finished 19th.

Aldi's bold last corner moved to victory, and he was only 0.102 seconds adrift of Jeffrey Buis (Freudenberg KTM-PALIGO Racing).

The leader of the provisional class inigo Iglesias Bravo (Fusport-RT Motorsport SKM-Kawasaki) led the race in the closing stages but had to settle for third when the plaid flag flew. The Spaniard is now leading the standings with a difference of 11 points from Mahendra.

Meanwhile, other strong competitors, namely Petr Svoboda (Fusport-RT Motorsport SKM-Kawasaki) and Daniel Mogeda (Team#109 Retro Traffic Kawasaki) were absent due to injury.
