Bodies Of OPM Members Found In Pania Papua

TIMIKA - The Cartenz Damai Operations Task Force 2024 said that the joint TNI-Polri apparatus found a body suspected of being a member of the Papua Merdeeka (OPM) organization or the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Undius Kogoya in Bibida District, Paniai Regency, Central Papua Province while carrying out law enforcement operations.

Head of Damai Cartenz 2024 Operation Kombes Pol Faizal Ramadhani, said that his party together with the joint apparatus carried out a measured and firm law enforcement operation against the Intan Jaya KKB led by Undius Kogoya from 14-17 June 2024.

"We from the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2024 continue to pursue the KKB led by Undius Kogoya who is actively carrying out criminal attacks and actions in Paniai Regency," said Faizal, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 17.

According to the Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force 2024 AKBP Bayu Suseno, the results of the search carried out by the joint apparatus from the Cartenz 2024 Peace Operations Task Force, the XVII Cenderawasih Military Command and the Papuan Police around the KKB Headquarters in Bibida District, Paniai found a body suspected of being the KKB led by Undius Kogoya.

"Yes, that's right, currently our troops are still evacuating to unload the body which is suspected to be the KKB," he said.

He explained that the evidence found near the body was suspected to belong to the KKB, which was in the form of a machete with a length of about 80 cm.

"We plan to evacuate the KKB body to the Paniai Hospital for further identification," he said.

He added that in a firm and measured law enforcement operation against the KKB in Paniai Regency, his party involved joint TNI-Polri personnel for three days from June 14-17, 2024.

"We reiterate that the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2024 is committed to continuing to enforce firm and measured law against the KKB in Papua," he said.
