Japanese PM Calls For Global Efforts For Peace In Ukraine

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called for global efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine, where Russia has continued to carry out special military operations for more than two years.

"Any attempt to unilaterally change the status quo with violence or coercion cannot be justified," Kishida said in a speech on Saturday at the Ukraine international summit of peace held at the Burgenstock resort, Switzerland, as reported by Antara.

The two-day meeting began on Saturday with more than 90 international countries and organizations participating, without the presence of Russia and China.

Tokyo, which is an ally of the West, has offered Ukraine non-military support, it is eager to support the reconstruction of the war-torn country by increasing electricity supply and clearing landmines, Kishida said.
