JAKARTA - The Mayor of Surakarta and Vice President Elected for the 2024 period, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, donated a sacrificial animal of one limousine cow weighing about 700 kilograms at the Al-Azhar Mosque, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Head of the Al-Azhar Tatang Komara Mosque Office said the cows were handed over by Gibran through his staff on Saturday (15/6). Apart from Gibran, the sacrificial animals at the Al-Azhar Mosque also came from the congregation and internal Al-Azhar.

"This year, thanks to Mr. Gibran for entrusting one cow here, a limousine with a weight of 700 kilograms," said Tatang when met at the Al-Azhar Mosque, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Sunday.

In front of the congregation before the prayer started, Tatang said that the Al-Azhar Mosque itself had received 13 sacrificial cows and 63 goats as of this Sunday.

Furthermore, the Head of the Takmir Mosque Al-Azhar Zahrudin Sultoni explained that the slaughter of sacrificial animals will be held from Monday 17 June to Tuesday 18 June.

"God willing, the slaughter of the sacrifice tomorrow morning, two days, because there are quite a lot of sacrificial animals received by the committee, so the slaughter takes two days. God willing," he said.

Zahrudin said that the Eid prayer at the Al-Azhar Mosque went smoothly. He estimates that around five thousand worshipers will attend.

"Alhamdulillah, in the upper main hall, then in the hall, and in all the corridors of the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque are filled with worshipers, including to the road. Subhanallah, it's amazing," he said.

Al-Azhar Mosque, added Zahrudin, will carry out Eid prayers on June 16, 2024 because it refers to the wuskuf schedule in Arafah which will be held on June 15, 2024.

"Al-Azhar has a commitment that when Eid we follow the results of the Ministry of Religion's Isbat Session, but for Eid we will take part in the wukuf in Arafah," he explained.

However, according to Zahrudin, differences in performing id prayers are common, so people do not need to be divided because of these differences.

"We don't need to claim each other that he is right, everything is true because the basis is the foundation of sharia, Al Quran and As Sunah," he said.
