OIKN: Celebrating The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia At IKN Is A Welcome Welcome

JAKARTA - Acting Deputy Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Raja Juli Antoni said the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN on August 17, 2024 was a welcome ceremony. "This is a transitional ceremony to welcome the new capital city," he said after the peak event of the 2024 Agrarian Summit in Denpasar, Bali, quoted from Antara, Saturday, June 15. He said that the ceremony would be held in two places, namely IKN, East Kalimantan, and in Jakarta.

He explained that in IKN there will be President Joko Widodo together with Elected President Prabowo Subianto, while in Jakarta it will be held with Vice President Kiai Haji Ma'ruf Amin, as well as with Elected Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The King of July argued that this was done to remember the important role of Jakarta as the previous capital city in Indonesia's development and promotion process.

He further said that after the implementation of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, the government plans to fully implement the independence ceremony in 2025 at IKN. "God willing, next year (2025) the ceremony will be full at IKN," he said. Previously, President Joko Widodo said that the INDONESIA's 80th Anniversary Ceremony on August 17, 2025 will be held in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan only, after the transfer of the capital city from Jakarta to IKN Nusantara was carried out.

Presiden Jokowi mengatakan Upacara 17 Agustus pada tahun depan dilakukan di IKN setelah Keputusan Presiden (Keppres) tentang perpindahan IKN diterbitkan."Nanti tahun depan kalau sudah ada keputusan presiden mengenai perpindahan baru nanti (upacara) di IKN saja," kata Presiden Jokowi usai menghadiri penimbangan serentak di Posyandu Terintegrasi RW 02 RPTRA Taman Sawo Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta Selatan, Selasa 11 Juni.
