The suspect in the murder of Vina Cirebon, Pegi Setiawan at the West Java Police Headquarters (ANTARA)

Bandung City District Court (PN) has set a pretrial hearing schedule proposed by Pegi Setiawan, a suspect in the 2016 murder case of Vina and Eky. The trial plans to be held on Monday, May 24, 2024.

This assurance was conveyed by one of the attorneys for Pegi Setiawan, Muchtar Effendy. As is known, Pegi Setiawan filed a pretrial lawsuit regarding the determination of the suspect by West Java (West Java) Police investigators.

"God willing, the Court will start June 24, 2024 at the Bandung District Court," he said at the West Java Police Headquarters, Wednesday, June 12.

Muchtar invites the mass media to continue to oversee the development of the case that befell his client. He also asked to help find the real facts of the case.

"Help us find the real facts, so that our clients are free from accusations that we think are very baseless," he said.

Muchtar added that his party had also submitted a suspension of detention for Pegi Setiawan. This was done after West Java Police investigators extended their detention and rejected the first suspension of detention proposed by Pegi Setiawan.

"As of today, we are proposing a second suspension because our client has been extended. Meanwhile, the request for the suspension of the first detention has not been responded to," he said.

Previously, the West Java Regional Police revealed that they had formed a legal team to deal with a pretrial lawsuit filed by Pegi Setiawan. The West Java Regional Police have yet to receive a summons to attend the trial at the Bandung City District Court.
