KPK Searches For SYL Family Assets Allegedly Paid Using Corruption Money

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the younger brother of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Andi Tenri Angka Limpo in the money laundering case on Wednesday, June 12. He was questioned by investigators about the assets allegedly bought using money from corruption.

"Investigators are investigating information about the ownership of assets allegedly in the name of the family," said KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement quoted on Thursday, June 13.

Meanwhile, Andi Tenri chose to be economical after undergoing examination. He denied that there were assets belonging to his brother which were managed by other family members.

"Nothing," he said as he rushed out of the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12.

The KPK previously scheduled an examination of Tenri on Monday, June 10. However, he did not fulfill the investigator's summons at the time.

The house of Andi Tenri Angka on Jalan Letjen Hertasning, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Thursday, May 16. From this activity, investigators confiscated evidence in the form of documents and electronic goods allegedly related to the Syahrul corruption case.

In addition, the KPK also confiscated a house belonging to SYL in Makassar, South Sulawesi on Wednesday, May 15. This asset is suspected to have a value of IDR 4.5 billion.

The KPK suspects that the house was bought by Syahrul using the extortion of ASN at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The money was collected through his confidant, namely the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture in 2023 Muhammad Hatta (MH).
