PAN Sindir Edy Rahmayadi: Still Looking For Forward Tickets For The Gubernatorial Election, Not Bobby Nasution's Rival

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP National Mandate Party (PAN) Saleh P Daulay satirized the former Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi who boasted that he was ready to fight President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law, Bobby Nasution in the 2024 Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra (Pigub Sumut).

In his statement, Edy Rahmayadi even dared to fight the president's son-in-law but also the son-in-law of the angel. According to Saleh, Edy Rahmayadi's statement was excessive because he was still looking for tickets to run for the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election

"For the time being, Mr. Edy is not competing with Bobby. Instead, he competes with other candidates. This is because other candidates are still looking for tickets. The place to look for him is the same, namely political parties. All political parties are conducting analysis and studies. There is no certainty whether it will be given to Pak Edy or to other candidates," Saleh told reporters, Wednesday, June 12.

According to Saleh, this condition is different from Bobby Nasution, who has already pocketed recommendations from a number of political parties to run in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilgub. Saleh understands that Edy Rahmayadi conveyed excessive things to the public to get a nomination ticket.

"Kalau Bobby kan sudah ada kendaraan. Sementara, Pak Edy masih paparan kiri-kanan. Tentu harus percaya diri. Tidak perlu ditengbahkan ke sana ke segera. Dari dulu, diksi dan intonasi Pak Edy ya yaitu. Kadang, diksi dan intonasinya terasa tidak senangkan," ujar Saleh.

Saleh encouraged Edy Rahmayadi to focus on explaining the achievements that had been made and the vision and mission for North Sumatra in the future and not to convey excessive things.

"Unfavorable dictions and intonations will also be considered. Political parties are certainly happy if the candidates being promoted carry the concepts and vision and missions of North Sumatra's development," said this member of the DPR from the PAN faction from the North Sumatra II electoral district.
