Jokowi And Prabowo Ceremony Of Independence Anniversary At IKN, Ma'ruf And Gibran In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The anniversary of Indonesia's independence on August 17, 2024 will be held in two locations, namely Jakarta and the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in Kalimantan.

"Yes, some (events) at IKN, some are here (Jakarta). (In IKN) the President is in charge. The Vice President here (Jakarta)," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy after a meeting to prepare for the Independence Anniversary ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Monday 10 June.

He said President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin would be accompanied by the president and vice president elected for the 2024 presidential election during a ceremony at each location.

"Later, the Vice President will be elected to accompany the vice president, the elected president will accompany the president," continued Muhadjir.

Apart from the two, Jokowi also requested that national figures be invited to attend the independence ceremony.

"(The invitation to the former president) is still being proposed. Earlier, the President recommended figures here (Jakarta) and IKN. There is no list yet, maybe two of them will be broken down. Including the ceremony at the Heroes Cemetery in Kalibata and IKN Memorial," explained Muhadjir.
