AHY's Coup, Military Observer: SBY's Time Bomb

JAKARTA - Political and military observer, Salim Said thinks that the chairman of the Democrat Party's High Council (MTP), Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), should have known when the time bomb inside his party had exploded. When making his eldest son, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) became the chairman of the Democratic Party.

According to him, SBY, who before becoming the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia was keen to criticize nepotism, has now become nepotic. This is what snowballed the senior's disappointment that made the Democrats win SBY.

"If the history is not special. SBY repeatedly criticizes, attacks nepotism people but appoints his son to become chairman of the party. So people do not expect SBY to push his son, who is still a young soldier, has the rank of major, and then stops when other parties appoint a general. Why is AHY forced to become chairman?" Salim stated in his discussion on Karni Ilyas' YouTube, which was uploaded Thursday, March 11.

Salim suspects that the Chief of Staff for President, Moeldoko, is not in a position to offer himself to be the general chairman of the Deli Serdang version of the Democratic Party (PD). It's just that, disappointed senior politicians then initiated the KLB and approached Moeldoko to be proposed as a General Chairman.

This is because the GM at the Defense University said that there were no PD members in the party management which are now led by AHY.

"All young people, right?" he said.

So, according to Salim, the seniors were disappointed and tried to attract outside figures to enter. In addition to Moeldoko, another name that was also offered to become chairman of the PD to replace AHY was former TNI Commander, Gatot Nurmantyo.

"If Mr. Moeldoko really wanted (to target the position of chairman of the PD, red), he would not initiate it. The initiate was someone in the Democratic Party," said Salim.

The elimination of the old PD politicians, added Salim, would certainly be to SBY's knowledge. For this reason, SBY should have known the potential conflict from AHY's policies and his advisors.

"Mr. SBY should have known that it was a ticking time bomb. The person was hurt, as is happening now," he said.
