JAKARTA - The BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) still does not want former residents of Kampung Bayam to inhabit the Kampung Susun Bayam (KSB). Thus, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to build a new flat (rusun) for them.

This was revealed by the Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Prabianto Mukti Wibowo after facilitating mediation between residents and Jakpro and the DKI Provincial Government on Monday, June 3.

"They have been relocated to the flats that will be built on Jalan Yos Sudarso," Prabianto said in a short message, Tuesday, June 4.

The residents affected by the eviction from the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) are willing to release KSB as their residence. Previously, residents insisted on demanding their right to stay in KSB.

"Residents are willing to be relocated to the flats that will be prepared by the DKI Provincial Government," said Prabianto.

However, Prabianto said, residents of Kampung Bayam were not willing to stay temporarily in Nagrak Flats, Cilincing, North Jakarta, while waiting for the construction process for a new flat.

"The DKI Provincial Government is offering to temporarily stay in the Nagrak flat, but residents are not willing. Residents choose to temporarily stay in the shelter on Jalan Tongkol," he said.

Then, Jakpro also promised to help residents by providing training and job opportunities for those who meet the requirements.

"Training to improve the skills of citizens in productive economic activities, including agro-industrials and other fields that are in demand and in accordance with the type of work that supports Jakpro/JIS activities," he explained.

KSB was founded since the leadership of former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. When inaugurated in October 2022, Anies promised KSB to become a residence for residents affected by the eviction of JIS development.

However, residents of Kampung Bayam and PT Jakpro did not find an agreement regarding the KSB rental rate. The dead end continued until the leadership was replaced by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

On Tuesday, May 21, residents of Kampung Bayam were surrounded by Jakpro security forces, Satpol PP to the police at KSB, after several months of unlicensed residence at the residence.

They were forced to leave KSB as their place of residence. Now, residents of Kampung Bayam have been forced to move to temporary shelter on Jalan Tongkol, Ancol, North Jakarta (Jakut).
