The Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) has succeeded in arresting a fugitive in a motorcycle specialist theft case with the initials H (42), a resident of Cibuntu Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"The suspect, who lives in the Paadabeunghar Village area, Jampangtengah District, has been arrested after being targeted for a long time," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Tony Prasetyio as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 30.

According to Tony, the suspect was arrested in Lengkong District some time ago after a team from the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim conducted surveillance, when he was about to be arrested H, who was famous for being slippery, tried to escape but thanks to the alertness of the officers, this fugitive was arrested.

The arrest of the suspect began with information from residents of Cicurug District who claimed to have lost their motorbikes in January 2024 which was later developed.

From the suspect's hands, his party confiscated 21 units of motorcycles resulting from crimes, the majority of which were automatic. In addition, the key T used by H was also confiscated to break into the ignition of motorcycles.

In carrying out the action, the suspect stalked a motorbike parked carelessly and in quiet places. To take away the motorbike that has been targeted, H only needs about three minutes.

"The perpetrator carried out the action alone. The evidence of the motorbike he stole was then sold to a collector who is still in our search," he said.

Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Ali Jupri, said that apart from acting in a quiet place, the suspect stole a motorbike by breaking into the victim's house by breaking into the window or door. This burglary was carried out by H when the owner of the house was fast asleep.

Not only in the Sukabumi area, the suspect carried out his actions in several other locations such as in the Bogor area and its surroundings. H was charged with Article 363 paragraph (1) 4e and 5e of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of seven years.
