MAUMERE - The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources reminded the public to be aware of the potential for rain lava flooding from Mount Ile Lewotolok in Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
"For people living around the river, be aware of the rain lava flood," said Head of the Ile Lewotolok Volcano Observation Post Jeffry Pugel as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 30.

From reports of volcanic activity submitted by the Ile Lewotolok Volcano Observation Post, there were 15 eruptions with a height of 200-300 meters from 06.00 WITA to 12.00 WITA.
The Geological Agency also recommends that people do not carry out activities within a two km radius of the mountain eruption center.
The public also needs to be aware of the potential threat of avalanches or lava avalanches from the eastern, southern, southeast, and west peaks.
