KPK: Corruption Is Considered A Community Culture

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminds the importance of maintaining integrity and staying away from violent practices. Do not let corruption be considered as a culture.

"Corruption is often considered to have become a culture in society. The KPK is here to remind us all that we can become victims or perpetrators of corruption. Let's maintain integrity and stay away from corruption," said KPK Director of Community Participation Development Kumbul Kusdwidjanto Sudjadi as quoted from a written statement, Thursday, May 30.

Kumbul said there are at least several ways to maintain integrity and can be applied in daily life. Among other things, by maintaining faith and being committed to religious teachings to being resistant to temptation.

"We must manage the intention not to be corrupt and remember the Almighty," he said.

Kumbul hopes that these methods can reduce the number of corrupt practices. Because, currently the KPK has taken action against 1,749 perpetrators, of whom 148 are women with the highest level of corruption in districts/cities with 618 cases.

However, this hope also requires the role of the community from the smallest environment, namely family. Because, support from others can also make integrity grow.

"Families with integrity are built to remind each other not to commit corruption," he concluded.
