As A Gerindra Cadre, Bobby Claims To Have Communication With Golkar

The merger of the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution to the Gerindra Party reportedly shocked the Golkar Party. The reason is that President Joko Widodo's son-in-law gave a signal that he would join the party bearing the banyan tree symbol to run as a candidate for governor in the North Sumatra Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub) in November 2024.

Bobby Nasution admitted that he had communicated with the Golkar Party regarding him being a cadre in the Gerindra Party.

"We have communicated with Golkar. Finally, we were invited to Jakarta because we received a letter of assignment. The letter of assignment was given during the presidential election yesterday. Not as the mayor, but as Bobby Nasution to win Prabowo-Gibran and win the Golkar Party in the 2024 Legislative Election. That is in accordance with the letter of duty and I have done it," said Bobby, Tuesday, May 27.

Bobby admitted that long before he had also been intensely communicating with the Gerindra Party.

"Regarding the issue of cadres in Gerindra, yesterday I conveyed, communication with the Gerindra Party has been established for a long time, there have been frequent communication. Yesterday I just waited for the date," said Bobby.

Meanwhile, Bobby, who was a former PDIP cadre, was reluctant to respond to the statement of PDI-P DPP Chair Puan Maharani at the closing of the PDIP National Working Meeting which alluded to the behavior of party cadres who according to him did not uphold political ethics, were not disciplined, and were against party ideology.

"Yes, I'm not commenting," answered Bobby Short.

Regarding the PDIP plan which is rumored to be carrying out former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok to run in the North Sumatra Pilgub, Bobby said that in the gubernatorial election it was not about who the opponents were, but the most important thing was that they both had the intention of advancing North Sumatra.
