West Aceh Regent: Panca Marga Youths Must Maintain Pancasila Ideology

JAKARTA - West Aceh Regent Haji Ramli MS stated that the Pemuda Panca Marga (PPM) organization in the district is obliged to maintain and protect the Pancasila ideology and the 1945 Constitution as the philosophy of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"The main task of the Panca Marga Youth is to maintain the ideology of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution in the midst of today's technological developments," said Ramli MS in Meulaboh, quoted by Antara, Friday, March 12.

He conveyed this affirmation after attending the inauguration of the West Aceh Regional Youth Branch (PPM) for the 2021-2026 term of service in the Makodim Hall 0105 West Aceh.

Ramli MS also emphasized that the Panca Marga Youth organization must be ready to face the current developments.

According to him, currently the Pancasila ideology is currently being damaged by those who do not want national unity and integrity in the country.

For this reason, he hopes that the presence of this youth organization must be able to care for and foster society, in practicing the Pancasila ideology in order to maintain the unity of the nation and state.

"We need to build and add insight into the nationality of society, especially in West Aceh District, so that the people are protected from ideologies that are against Pancasila," said Ramli MS.

So far, he said, the West Aceh Regency Government has focused on development starting from villages to cities, upholding Islamic law, and eradicating immorality solely to carry out Pancasila values, he said.

In addition, the local government is completing the ring road connecting 9 sub-districts in West Aceh Regency.

This is the government's effort to drive the economy of people in remote areas in order to support national resilience, he said.

In addition, the West Aceh Regency Government has succeeded in forming a Muslim village which aims to foster the community in increasing Islamic knowledge, increasing national insight, and developing the economic potential of the people.

"This Muslim village was formed to address ideological issues that currently afflict the younger generation," said Ramli.

Ramli hopes that the management of the Panca Marga Youth in West Aceh is also required to have the morals and behavior in accordance with the values of Pancasila.

"Don't just memorize Pancasila, it must be understood and practiced in the life of the nation and state," he said.
