Prabowo Concerning The Ministry For Free Lunch: Need Special Or Enough Agency, We Are Thinking About It

JAKARTA - The elected President for the 2024-2029 period Prabowo Subianto said that he was thinking about the need for a ministry specifically to take care of the free lunch program. This step is considered necessary to ensure the efficiency of the implementation of his campaign promise in the 2024 presidential election.

"We have calculated that we are capable. The issue of organization, not necessarily. We are thinking whether it needs a special ministry or just a body," Prabowo said as quoted from his written statement, Thursday, May 23.

In addition, Prabowo is also thinking about a distribution scheme so that school-age children can experience the free lunch program. He did not want any budget leaks in the future implementation.

"The problem is, I've been talking about this for a long time, there is a phenomenon as a child of the nation that I am aware that there are many leaks in our nation. Now, this is how we make the scheme efficiently, there is no leakage to our children," said the former Danjen Kopassus.

Prabowo said that this lunch program would later be adjusted to the conditions in each region. Likewise with free milk that will be distributed.

Prabowo gave an example in one of the areas in Southwest Maluku, namely Moa Island, where the area often produces milk from buffalo. So it is not difficult enough to get milk production that can be reached by children in the Moa area.

"So, we have to adapt our plans to different regional typology and conditions. We don't have one pattern to be leveled in Indonesia, there are mountainous areas, there are coastal areas, there are islands.
