Pasangkayu Police Arrest Perpetrators Of Obscenity Of Four Minors

The Pasangkayu Police, West Sulawesi, arrested a perpetrator of sexual abuse of four minors.

"The perpetrator with the initials KM (45), we arrested him for committing a criminal act of molestation against four children," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasangkayu Police, Iptu Adrian Batubara, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 22.

The act of sexual abuse carried out by KM against four minors, said Adrian Batubara, took place during the period March to May 2024.

The perpetrator continued, carried out the action when the victims came shopping at KM's kiosk.

"The perpetrators invited the victims to enter their homes and then carried out their actions. After doing their actions, the perpetrators usually gave snacks to the child," explained Adrian Batubara.

For his actions, KM said Adrian Batubara was named a suspect by being charged with Article 82 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 76E of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.

The case of child molestation was also successfully uncovered by the Mamasa Police Criminal Investigation Unit by arresting two perpetrators, one of whom was a 69-year-old grandfather.

The two perpetrators of sexual abuse of minors, namely PT (69) who sexually abused his stepson and another perpetrator with the initials TM (37) who sexually abused his adopted son.

"The two cases of sexual abuse against minors have been uncovered by the Mamasa Police Criminal Investigation Unit," said Mamasa Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Amiruddin.

The case of sexual abuse committed by PT against his stepdaughter continued the Police Chief, took place during the period January to April 2024.

"The action was carried out by PT in Bombong Lambe Village, Mamasa District since January 2024. The perpetrator committed acts of sexual abuse against his grandson by threatening the victim with a knife," explained Amiruddin.

Meanwhile, TM's obscenity against his adopted son took place in Saloan Village, Pana District, Mamasa Regency.

"The action was carried out by TM when he asked the victim to accompany him to pick coffee at the perpetrator's garden. TM's action was revealed after the victim's mother found bloodstains on her child's pants, so the case was immediately reported to the Mamasa Police," said Amiruddin.

The two perpetrators of sexual abuse, said the Police Chief, have been named as suspects under Article 82 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 76E of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
