UINSA Investigate Mesum Student Case On Campus

SURABAYA - Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UINSA) Surabaya conducted an investigation regarding the alleged existence of students caught on camera committing obscene acts in a multilevel building with a glass layer.

Deputy Chancellor III of UINSA for Student Affairs and Cooperation Prof. Abdul Muhid said that his party was conducting an investigation regarding the viral case.

According to him, if you look at the video circulating, he did not deny that the incident occurred at the Gunung Anyar campus UINSA.

"This is being investigated, if you look at the building at UINSA, the Gunung Anyar campus," said Prof. Abdul as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 17.

His party is currently calling a student who is suspected of committing a nasty scene to confirm the truth of the video circulating.

However, the student who was called was apparently shocked after learning that the video went viral, so the campus decided to call his parents.

"The student may be in a state of shock because it has circulated to his friends. Therefore, his parents were summoned for an in-depth investigation process," he said.

His party conveyed that severe sanctions awaits if the cast in the video is proven by UINSA students who commit indecent acts.

"We leave it to the ethics committee, according to the UINSA code of ethics, starting from a warning to high (DO). His name is also a punishment. We cannot confirm before the results of the investigation are completed and submitted to the ethics committee," he said.

In carrying out the investigation process, his party will also check CCTV and call witnesses who were at the location at that time.

"That's what we also need to learn because this concerns the dignity," he said.

The video of the student's nasty act was caught on a cellphone camera from another student and then spread through a WhatsApp group.

The 45-second video shows a male and female student wearing a hijab committing indecent acts.
