Ahead Of The 2024 Pilkada, Heru Asks Satpol PP To Increase Security

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to increase synergy with related parties to maintain order and security ahead of the election. "I hope Satpol PP can also actively assist the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) so that the public can carry out as mandated by the population administration in the Law or PP as well as the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs," said Heru, Friday, May 17.

The 74th Anniversary of the Satpol PP and the 62nd Community Protection Unit of DKI Jakarta at the National Monument, Jakarta, Friday, Heru appreciated all ranks of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP and the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) for carrying out their duties in maintaining peace, order and protection of Jakarta residents.

The success of all stages of the presidential and vice presidential elections as well as the ongoing legislative elections, said Heru, was all carried out in a safe, orderly and peaceful manner.

This is a manifestation of the hard work of the Satpol PP together with all levels of election organizers, the TNI-Polri, regional apparatus and elements of community organizations.

In addition, Heru said, this synergy must be maintained, especially ahead of the Pilkada which will be held in November 2024. Satpol PP and Satlinmas are expected to continue to innovate and play a role in the transformation of the city of Jakarta as a center for globally peaceful and conducive business activities.

Heru also reminded that in the transition, namely the transfer of the capital city and the Special Jakarta Regional Law (DKJ) which had been signed by the president.

"I ask the Satpol PP and Satlinmas to continue to increase community involvement through various programs so that Jakarta residents can be active in maintaining peace and city order, including this month until June," said Heru.
