Brigjen Prasetijo Receives 3.5 Years In Prison Sentence, Lawyers Consider Emotional Statements

JAKARTA - The team of lawyers, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo, said that the answer to his client who received a sentence of 3.5 years in prison was not final. The lawyer suspected Prasetijo's answer was only emotional.

"As with our discussion with Sir Pras this morning, we must respect this court decision. After this we will have another meeting with him, will this be continued, will it be emotional, will it be revoked later (statement). Let's see how it is from Sir Pras himself", said a member of the team of lawyers, Brigadier General Prasetijo, Rolas Sitinjak to reporters, Wednesday, March 10.

Rolas said it was possible for Brigadier General Prasetijo to appeal the judge's verdict.

"The problem of revoking (the statement of accepting the verdict, red) is still possible, because it is permitted by law whether it is revoked, whether Pak Pras follows up, does he accept it. We'll see", he said.

Brigadier General Prasetijo previously stated that he received a 3.5-year sentence for the bribery case for removing Joko Tjandra's name from the DPO list at Immigration and red notice.

"I accept the Your Honor", he said.

Brigadier General Prasetijo was found guilty because while serving as Head of the Supervisory Coordinator Bureau PPNS Bareskrim Polri received 100 thousand US dollars from Joko Tjandra through Tommy Sumardi.
