Terminal In Putussibau West Kalimantan Considered Unworthy, Residents Ask Local Government To Intervene

JAKARTA - A number of residents of Putussibau City, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan Province (West Kalimantan) highlighted the condition in the Putussibau City Bus Terminal area which was very concerning.

In addition to looking shabby, the building inside has also suffered a lot of damage.

"The construction of kiosks inside the terminal is no longer feasible, the terminal yard is also flooded, we hope that there will be local government attention because the terminal is still functioning," said a resident of Putussibau, Musthafa, in Putussibau Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, Monday, May 13, confiscated by Antara.

Musthafa explained that the location of the terminal was indeed quite strategic because it was not far from the Putussibau Market, it was just that his condition was not maintained and for years there had been no development from the government.

He admitted that he was concerned about the condition of the terminal, which was increasingly looking shabby, especially next to the Kapuas Hulu Health Office.

The same thing was said, Ardian, one of the uses of the Putussibau City terminal, said that the terminal had become an old building that was still functioning, because it did not get serious attention from the government.

"If it is no longer feasible, it is better if the terminal is used as a city development location or as a community shopping center, because it is also not far from the Putussibau Market," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Kapuas Hulu Transportation Service (Dishub), Serli, said that the limited regional budget was an obstacle in handling the Putussibau City bus terminal.

"For the Putussibau terminal, until now there has been no rehabilitation or new development, depending on the regional financial capacity, but coaching is always there," he said.

Serli explained that routine terminal environmental cleaning is carried out ahead of religious holidays.

"Currently the terminal is still active and we continue to carry out coaching, it's just that there is no rehabilitation or new building yet," he concluded.
