GORONTALO - Dozens of students from the high school (SMA) Integrated Wira Bhakti Gorontalo fled from school dormitories, because they were suspected of receiving bullying from the arts.

One of the students' parents, Sera, said that her daughter told that they ran away from the school dormitory at around 02.00 WITA through the fence wall and then walked hundreds of meters before finally ordering a transportation service to go to the house of one of her colleagues' parents.

"According to the statement of my son and his colleagues, they ran away from school because they could not stand the pressure or treatment of their seniors," Sera said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 11.

These 10th grade students are often punished by sitting with their feet folded sideways for a long time.

Another treatment experienced by students is that they are required to move quickly when summoned or ordered by their seniors. Even for fear of violating the senior-specified countdown limit, one of the students fell from the stairs causing serious injuries to the jaw.

"The student must finally be taken to the hospital for medical treatment," he said.

In addition, the cadets also complained about senior treatment, who often asked for their snacks to buy food.

Due to the pressure experienced, said Sera, the students finally decided to run away from the school dormitory together for fear of getting treatment that could endanger safety.

"Kami berharap aturan yang ada di sekolah itu bisa diperbaiki dan para senior yang terlibat dapat dilakukan pembinaan hingga dievaluasi sehingga hal ini tidak perlu terjadi," kata Sera.

He explained that several student parents had held deliberations with the school in one of the houses where the cadets spent the night.

"Currently they are not ready to return to school and earlier agreed with the school, that they will return to their respective families' homes," he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of Integrated High School Wira Bhakti Marwan Potale said that his party had taken preventive steps by allowing the cadets to return to their parents or families.

The school has not been able to draw conclusions regarding this issue, because the cadets are still being asked by their parents to return to their respective homes.

"God willing, on Sunday or Monday they will be escorted back to school by their respective parents. We will ask for information to confirm the actual incident," said Marwan.
