Losing The Dispute, Anies Is Obliged To Open All Information On Jakarta Flood Management

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Information Commission won the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH) over a dispute over public information related to flood management. This means that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan was defeated in this dispute.

This flood information dispute was submitted by LBH Jakarta since January 17, 2020. LBH Jakarta submitted 20 items of flood management information in DKI Jakarta. However, the DKI Provincial Government only provided 17 pieces of information.

There are three public information that is not provided by the PPID of DKI Pemprov. First, a document explaining the results of an evaluation of the fulfillment of the rights of the community and refugees affected by the flood disaster.

Second, documents that explain the social and economic impacts for flood victims. Third, documents that explain compensation for people who suffer losses after the flood.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has argued that it has provided all the requested public information. They asked LBH Jakarta to request public information from the start with a research data request mechanism," wrote the statement from LBH Jakarta on the page aidhukum.or.id, quoted on Tuesday, March 9. .

In addition, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also asks LBH Jakarta to accept public information provided by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government if it has the need to carry out research and advocacy.

This argument was later rejected by the Board of Commissioners. In the decision dated March 4, the panel stated that the requested public information was categorized as information that had to be announced immediately and was closely related to the lives of many people.

"In essence, in its decision the board of commissioners of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Information Commission ordered the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to provide all requests for public information that were requested by LBH Jakarta," said LBH Jakarta.

That way, LBH Jakarta urges Anies to open all public information related to flood disaster management without exception.
