Prevent Budget Entrepreneurship, Prabowo Is Advised To Accompany The Ministry

The discourse on increasing the number of ministries from 34 to 40 in the Prabowo Subianto government is considered to cause a waste of the budget. Prabowo is advised to streamline the number of ministries before adding a new nomenclature.

"I don't think it's right because the government has become fat, so it won't be effective later. It's better to accompany it first, for example, the Ministry of Trade is used as one with the Ministry of Industry," said a public policy observer, Trubus Rahadiansyah, Friday, May 10, 2024.

According to him, streamlining a state agency or institution that has the same authority under one parent ministry can also be another option for Prabowo's future government. Especially, institutions whose performance has been considered unproductive.

He gave an example, the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB) can be combined with two other institutions, namely the State Administration Agency (LAN) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

This, continued Trubus, was done when combining the State Land Agency (BPN) with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR), which is now called the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

Therefore, before there is an additional nomenclature of the ministry, there must also be a liquidated ministry. This is because the number of ministries of more than 34 will cause a waste of the state budget.

"If you want to add, someone must be liquidated. So later the number will not be more than 34. If it is up to 40, it will be mostly, fat, it will waste the budget," said Trubus.
