Different Visions With Prabowo, PAN Hopes Other Political Parties Imitate Ganjar's Attitude That Dares To Opposition

Deputy Chairperson of PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay responded to Ganjar Pranowo's political stance which declared himself outside the government or opposition after losing the 2024 presidential election.

Saleh considered that political parties supporting presidential candidates had different visions with Prabowo-Gibran to imitate Ganjar's courage as an opposition.

"Sikap seperti ini seharusnya diikuti oleh satu, dua atau tiga partai politik. Dengan begitu, pengawasan terhadap program pemerintah dilakukan dari DPR. Benalnya resmi dan bertanggung jawab, tidak hanya berbicara di luar sebagai kekuatan extra parlemen," ujar Saleh kepada wartawan, Rabu, 8 Mei.

According to him, not all political parties must enter the cabinet. With the opposition, said Saleh, the Prabowo-Gibran government program will later be able to supervise.

"Not all must enter the cabinet. Outside the cabinet it is also good. By becoming an opposition, good programs are appreciated, which are not well criticized and evaluated, and those that are not good are rejected for improvement," said the chairman of the PAN faction in the DPR.

Saleh also gave an example of PAN's attitude, which had been in opposition, before finally deciding to join the government.

"PAN yesterday did not immediately enter the cabinet. Even if it is now inside, it will be included at the end and end of the period," he said.

Saleh then reminded that the different vision and mission of the presidential election coalition could complicate the government's performance. Because he said, Prabowo-Gibran carried the theme of sustainability while other Paslon supporting political parties brought a narrative of change.

"Prabowo-Gibran's position clearly wants to continue Jokowi's program and development achievements. Meanwhile, other candidate pairs want to make changes. That's different, right. Both conceptually and practically. It's a bit difficult to combine," he concluded.
