Police Sterilization Of Church Ahead Of The Determination Of The Archbishop Of Kupang

The bomb disposal team from the Gegana Detachment, the NTT Police Mobile Brigade Unit conducted church sterilization and a place to stay for a number of VIP and VVIP bishops and guests who would attend the inauguration ceremony of RD Hironimus Pakaenoni to become the Archbishop of Kupang.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said that the sterilization was carried out to provide a sense of security and to ensure security ahead of the celebration of the Kupang Archbishop who replaced the previous Kupang Archbishop, Bishop Emeritus Mgr Petrus Turang.

"Sterilization is carried out in a number of strategic locations in Kupang City, such as airports, hotels and churches," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 8.

The bomb disposal team carried out sterilization was led by IPDA I Gusti Bagus Dirga Putra, which was supported by special equipment such as Jibom detection, KBR detection, protection, disposal, and other supporting equipment.

Irwanto Arianto while checking and coordinating the readiness to secure the security of the Kupang Archdiocese at the ST church. Yoseph Kupang City, said that this sterilization activity was part of the National Police's efforts to support the smoothness of the Kupang Archbishop's inauguration and to maintain the safety of all the people present and the smooth running of these activities.

"With the implementation of sterilization activities in a number of places by the Jibom Team, it is hoped that it can provide a sense of security and comfort for all people who will follow the procession of determining the Kupang Archbishop," concluded Karoops Polda NTT.

This step confirms the commitment of the National Police in this case the NTT Police in maintaining the security and smooth running of the tahbisan event which is very meaningful for Catholics in Kupang City.

There were 608 joint personnel deployed to secure the implementation of these activities.

Of these, the NTT Regional Police deployed 336 personnel, the Kupang City Police deployed 206 personnel and the rest were from the Kupang Police.

He hopes that the community can participate in helping maintain security starting from before the tahbisan event and at the time of the inauguration of the Archbishop of Kupang.
