JAKARTA - Sidoarjo Regent, Ahmad Muhdlor Ali or who is familiarly called Gus Muhdlor, was present to fulfill the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigating team on Tuesday (7/5/2024). His presence is related to the investigation of the alleged corruption case at the Sidoarjo Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD).
The KPK has named three suspects in this case, including the Head of the General Subdivision and Personnel Division of the Sidoarjo Regency BPPD, Siska Wati (SW); Head of BPPD Sidoarjo, Ari Suryono (USA); and Gus Muhdlor. Currently, only Gus Muhdlor has not been arrested.
Gus Muhdlor arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta at around 08.16 WIB, which was confirmed by the KPK spokesman, Ali Fikri. He appears to be wearing a hat, mask, and black jacket, trying to avoid the attention of the media crew.
After waiting, Gus Muhdlor entered the examination room at 9.30 WIB. Previously, he had been absent from the KPK's summons last Friday. However, the KPK chose to wait for his cooperative attitude.
Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Muhdlor was present and is being investigated. He was asked for information regarding the alleged cut in incentives for civil servants of the Sidoarjo Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD).
"At around 08.16 WIB, they arrived at the KPK building," Ali told reporters when confirmed, Tuesday, May 7.
Gus Muhdlor's statement was needed by the KPK investigating team to uncover the alleged corruption case at the Sidoarjo BPPD. Even though he is filing a pretrial lawsuit, this does not stop the ongoing investigation process.
"The pretrial process that is starting to run does not stop the ongoing investigation. Of course, the pretrial is only limited to testing the formal administration side of the investigation process," said Ali Fikri.
Previously reported, the Head of the General Subdivision of Personnel of the BPPD Sidoarjo Siska Wati had already been named by the KPK as a suspect. He was caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) which resulted in R69.9 million in finding.
