The AGO Confiscated 179 Land Owned By Benny Tjokro, From Tan Kian's Investigation Results

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) confiscated hundreds of hectares of land linked to suspect Benny Tjokrosaputro. The existence of the land was discovered after an examination of the Chief of KSO Duta Regency Karunia Metropolitan Tan Kian.

"So for Tan Kian, the examination can be 179 hectares in Bogor Regency", said the Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah to reporters, Tuesday, March 9.

"But it is related to Benny Tjokro who is in control of the business with Tan Kian", he continued.

At least, Tan Kian has been questioned three times in the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri. Finally, he was examined as a witness on Monday, March 8.

Febrie said investigators had found evidence of a connection between the business relationship between Benny Tjokro and the businessman. That reason was used to confiscate hundreds of hectares of the land.

"Yes, the cooperation between Benny Tjokro and him (Tan Kian) was for the purchase of land. So yes, we consider that it is still related to the ownership of Benny Tjokro which we confiscated", said Febrie.

For now, said Febrie, the AGO is exploring the business relationship between the two. Moreover, there is an allegation that Tan Kian was used as a place to launder money by Benny Tjokro.

"If we see that so far it is still business cooperation, we have yet to find the evidence. Whether Tan Kian participated in money laundering is still being investigated", added Febrie.

Furthermore, Febrie said that investigators also confiscated 41 plots of land in the Bandung, West Java area. The land is also linked to one of the suspects in the ASABRI corruption case.

"That (land parcel) is related to our confiscation of ownership from Sonny, Sir Sonny Widjaja", he said.

For information, in this case, the Attorney General's Office has named nine suspects in the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri.

Two former Directors of PT Asabri were named as suspects, namely Major General (Ret) Adam Rachmat Damiri and Sonny Widjaja. Meanwhile, the other seven suspects are Bachtiar Effendi who is a former finance director of PT Asabri, Heri Setiono as Director of PT Asabri.

Furthermore, Lukman Purnomosidi is Managing Director of PT Prima Network, and Jimmy Sutopo is Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations. Finally, Heru Hidayat and Benny Tjokrosaputro.
