West Aceh Police Arrest Thief 300 Kg Getah Karet PT SIR

MEULABOH - Investigators from the West Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit detained MI, a resident of Pasi Teungoh Village, KawayXVI District, as a suspect in the alleged theft of 300 kilograms of rubber sap in a plantation owned by PT Sari Inti Rakyat (SIR), located in Alue Lhee, Kaway XVI District, local district.

"The detention of MI was carried out after being named a suspect in the theft case," said Head of the West Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Fachmi Suciandy as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

In this case, the police helped secure the rubber sap allegedly stolen eight sacks weighing about 300 kilograms (Kg).

FachmiSuciandy said that previously the suspect MI was arrested on the company's report, because the man was suspected of committing a criminal act of stealing sap from a rubber tree belonging to a plantation company.

Before being arrested, the suspect MI was suspected of committing a criminal act of stealing sap from rubber trees and was known by the assistant of PT SIR's plantation, Nazir while patrolling around the plantation area in Twi Gajah Mate Hamlet, Alue Lhee Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency.

Iptu Fachmi Suciandy said, based on the results of an investigation conducted by the police, the suspect MI is suspected of having long stolen rubber tree sap in the company area for approximately three months.

The rubber Getah, which was allegedly stolen, was then sold by the suspect MI for daily needs.

As a result of the theft allegedly committed by the suspect MI, said Iptu Fachmi Suciandy, the company felt aggrieved so that it reported the case to the West Aceh Police.

Iptu Fachmi Suciandy said the suspect MI admitted to investigators that the suspect worked on the rubber plantation because he thought the HGU land belonging to the PT SIR company had expired.

In addition, the economic needs factor also triggered the suspect to steal the company's rubber sap.

"In this case, the police charged the suspect MI with Article 362 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of five years," said Iptu Fachmi Suciandy.
