Instead Of The Presidential Club, Prabowo Is Advised To Focus On Government Strategies

JAKARTA Political observer at Padjadjaran University, Muradi suggested Prabowo Subianto be more focused on formulating and making strategies for his upcoming government than thinking of forming a Presidential Club.

According to him, although the discourse is interesting, it is not realistic to realize it at this time because it will intersect with the comfort side between the former president.

"The focus on the government will be much more valuable, much more useful than implementing ideas that are actually not fully acceptable. Moreover, for example, PDIP will not be in a position in the government, it will make it less comfortable among the former president," said Muradi, Sunday, May 5, 2024.

He reminded that the presidents before Prabowo came from different parties that had their respective ideologies and political visions. Therefore, it will be very difficult to equalize the perceptions of the characters with different characteristics.

"It should have characteristics that can provide stimulation, because the context is that we change the president's approach to a slightly different one. Meanwhile, this party is mixed up too, there is no pure ideological party. Unlike for example in the United States or in Germany, Australia, the ideology is pure," Muradi explained.

Moreover, he said, the relationship with each other between Prabowo's predecessors cannot be said to be cool. The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri is currently hot with the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo due to the nomination of Gibran Rakabuming Raka. In addition, Megawati has also had a cold war with the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for a dozen years.

"Why? We can't be naive to say that there is no problem between these former presidents. We talk about something that is then unrealistic. Realistically, they have problems, the problem is not ideological, the problem is psychological between them," Muradi said.
