AMBON - The Public Prosecutor of the Aru Islands District Attorney's Office, Maluku,Nicholas Simanjuntak, charged five defendants with alleged corruption in the Aru Regional Head Election grant funds for the 2020 fiscal year for two years in prison.

The prosecutor's demands were read out during the trial led by the chairman of the Ambon Corruption Court, Rahmat Selang, and accompanied by two member judges at the Ambon District Court, Friday, May 3.

The five defendants who were sentenced to two years in prison were Mustafa Darakay as Chairman of the Aru Islands KPU, and Mohamad Adjir Kadir, Kenan Rahalus, Vita Putranubun, and Yosef Labok as members of the KPU.

Each of the defendants, Mustafa Darakay, Mohamad Adjir Kadir, Kenan Rahalus, Vita Putranubun, and Yosef Labok, were sentenced to two years in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million each, subsidiary to three months in prison.
