JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will retrial the alleged ethical violation of KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron in the middle of this month.

KPK Supervisory Board member Syamsuddin Haris said the postponement of the ethics trial against Ghufron was carried out because he did not attend the trial today, Thursday, April 2. This is because he filed a lawsuit against the KPK Supervisory Board to the State Administrative Court (PTUN).

"The trial was postponed on May 14, 2024," Syamsuddin told reporters, Thursday, April 2.

Ghufron is known to have filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court because he feels that the KPK Supervisory Board has no right to handle alleged ethical violations because it has expired. Meanwhile, he is suspected of violating his authority to take care of employee mutations at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

In the future, the KPK Council ensures that the trial for alleged ethical violations is carried out and is not affected by the lawsuit. "If the second summons will not be present, the ethics trial will continue," said Syamsuddin.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, will be tried for ethics because he is suspected of communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding employee mutations. The KPK Council decided that the trial was held because it had a number of evidences, including information from related parties such as former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Meanwhile, Ghufron reported KPK Council Member Albertina Ho to the KPK Supervisory Board in the midst of investigating the alleged ethical violation. He also sued the KPK Supervisory Board to the State Administrative Court (PTUN).

The report against Albertina was carried out because he coordinated with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to investigate allegations of ethical violations by the prosecutor with the initials IT who extorted judges of up to Rp3 billion. Meanwhile, the lawsuit to the Administrative Court was filed because the KPK Council was deemed not entitled to investigate the alleged ethics because it had expired.
