Using KN Bima Sena, 109 Sitaro Residents Victims Of Mount Ruang Eruption Evacuated To North Minahasa

JAKARTA - The Basarnas KN SAR Bima Sena evacuated as many as 109 residents of the Sitaro Islands who were victims of the eruption of Mount Ruang, North Sulawesi (Sulut). They were evacuated to North Minahasa.

"Residents who were evacuated will later be taken to Munte Harbor in North Minahasa Regency," said Nakhoda Syahbudin when interviewed on the KN SAR Bima Sena ship in the waters of Tamulandang, Sulut, Wednesday, May 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said residents upon arrival at Munte Port would be handled by the North Sulawesi Provincial Government to the evacuation site by land.

He explained that of the 109 victims who were evacuated, 56 adults, 21 elderly residents as well as children and 32 toddlers were recorded.

The refugees came from several villages around Haasi, Mohondang, Belehumara, Barangkapehe, a village where most of their houses were damaged after the massive eruption of Mount Ruang.

Residents who were evacuated using the Bima Sena SAR KN were dispatched from Minanga Port, North Tagulandang District.

The Basarnas ship initially docked at the Talugulandang Port since Tuesday night, close to Mount Ruang which is on the Island of Ruang.

Then, the ship moved from Tagulandang Port to Minanga Harbor the next day to evacuate victims of the Mount Ruang eruption. A few hours earlier, KMP Lokongbanua also evacuated residents to Siau Island.

Previously, Mount Ruang on Ruang Island, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi again had a level IV alert status after returning to the eruption on Tuesday at 02.35 WITA.

In information on the eruption of Mount Ruang which was continued by the Head of the PGA Ruang Post, Julius Ramopolii in the conversation group 'Info Gunung Api Sitaro' at 02.45 WITA, when the report was Mount Ruangan was in an eruption condition.

During the eruption, the height of the ash column was not observed. This eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 55 mm and a temporary duration of approximately 10 minutes.
