The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the public to be aware of the notification letter for the start of a fake investigation (SPDP) circulating.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in response to a number of media reports of an investigation into alleged corruption in Boyolali, Central Java by including the photo of the letter. Asep Guntur Rahayu's signature, which is the Director of KPK's Investigation, was painted on it.

"KPK has examined and confirmed that the information is fabricated and untrue," Ali told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, April 30.

Ali suspects that this letter is spread elsewhere. The public and officials should not be influenced by this mode.

The fraudster who took the name of the anti-corruption commission was also asked to carry out the action, said Ali. "We also urge the public not to be provoked and always be aware of various modes of fraud on behalf of the KPK," he said.

He said the public could actively help the KPK arrest fraudsters by reporting to local law enforcement officials. In addition, they can contact the anti-corruption commission in various ways such as Call Center 198.

"KPK firmly asks the person who made or misused the fake letter to immediately stop the action," concluded Ali.
