Blocked By Gelora Party Meeting With Prabowo-Gibran, PKS: No Problem

JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu did not care about the attitude of the Gelora Party which opposed his party to join the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka coalition.

Syaikhu said that PKS is always ready if offered to join the Prabowo government. Likewise, if it remains the government's opposition as before.

"For us, it doesn't matter. Want to go outside, inside, We have our own experience, yes," said Syaikhu when met in South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 30.

Syaikhu emphasized that the communication network between PKS and Gerindra and Prabowo was still ongoing. PKS is also waiting for Prabowo's offer to join his government.

"We'll just have to wait, hopefully in the process in the future there will be things that are clearer. Is it an offer or whatever, that's because we haven't met in person," said Syaikhu.

Along with this, PKS will also strengthen its political stance in the future after carrying out the Shura Council deliberation as the determinant of the direction of the party.

"The policy to take whether it is outside or inside the police or in the opposition, once again this is in the realm of the Shura Council or the Syura Council's working body," he continued.

Previously, the Gelora Party rejected PKS, which reportedly wanted to join the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. Gelora also brought up the view of PKS supporters if they decided to support Prabowo-Gibran.

"What do his fanatical supporters say? It seems that there is a division of attitudes between the PKS elite and its supporters," said Secretary General of the Gelora Party Mahfuz Sidik in his statement.

Mahfuz then mentioned about PKS which always plays its ideological narrative against the government. Including the candidate pair number 2 in the 2024 presidential election process yesterday.

"As far as I remember, during the campaign process, many PKSs appeared very ideological narratives in attacking the figure of Prabowo-Gibran," said Mahfuz.
