JAKARTA - Constitutional Court (MK) Judge Arief Hidayat doubts the validity of the signature of the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN) Anas Urbaningrum in the application document submitted in the 2024 Pilleg General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case.

The application is registered with number 08-01-09-38/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024.

Arief said there was a difference in the withdrawal of the signature line in the application documents and power of attorney with the signature contained in the Anas Urbaningrum Identity Card (KTP).

"The sign of the hand is very different. The line in the initial petition is very high, Mr. Anas, but here it seems that the attraction is also different for power (letter), the ID card is also different. If this is fake, we can ask for it to be treated (examined) at Bareskrim. How about it? Is this right?," said Arief at the 2024 Legislative Election PHPU trial at the Constitutional Court I building (MK), Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 30.

In this case, PKN questioned the vote acquisition for the Election of Candidates for Provincial and Regency/City DPRD Members in Papua Mountains, Papua, Southwest Papua, and North Maluku. PKN attorney Arfan Poretoka explained that the PKN Ketum had given approval for the submission of the case to the Constitutional Court.

"Indeed, we had time to go to PKN to ask for approval. On that day, the General Chair was given direct approval," said Arfan in response to Arief's question.

Arief still doubts the explanation of the PKN attorney. According to him, Anas Urbaningrum's signature is very different, so his validity is doubtful.

However, the Court still invited PKN's attorney to read out the main petition. The Constitutional Court also asked the PKN attorney to send Anas Urbaningrum's re-signature before the next trial.

"We'll see. If it's still different, we can abort this request. But if it's the same, we'll continue how it goes," said Arief.
