Police Claim There Was No Incident Of Promining During The 2024 Election, But Spreading Fake News

JAKARTA - The 2024 General Election Contestation (Pemilu) has been completed. The National Police stated that they did not find any prominent events during the democratic participants.

"It is true that the National Police Cyber is monitoring or always monitoring the situation during the election, there is no prominent or striking phenomenon," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Tuesday, April 30.

But the act of spreading fake news that colored the 2024 election contestation. This was based on the results of cyber patrols carried out by a team from Cyber Police.

"The dynamics of the elections are still being colored due to fake news found by Cyber Police," said Trunoyudo.

However, it was not conveyed in detail how many fake news findings during the 2024 General Election. Including, cases being handled.

One of the cases of fake news handled by the police is the manipulation of the voices of judges reading the results of the Constitutional Court (MK) trial. In that case, the man with the initials MA (32) was named a suspect.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Riau Police, Kombes Nasriadi, explained that the suspect uploaded the manipulation results on his Tiktok account @arif92_8.

"It is known that the voice is not the original voice of the Constitutional Court Judge. The suspect added several 'captions' and reposted the video after it was edited," said Nasriadi.

Cyber Bareskrim Polri then saw the suspect's upload and coordinated with the Riau Police Ditreskrimsus Cyber for follow-up. Furthermore, the Riau Police Cyber Team conducted an investigation, examined expert witnesses and found out that the perpetrators were domiciled in the Rohil Regency area.

"Based on the results of the investigation and deepening of evidence equipped with expert witness testimony, the perpetrator who owns the Tiktok account @arif92_8 is known to be in Rohil Regency," he said.
