Leaders Of Indonesia-Singapore Retreat Next Week At Bogor Palace To Discuss IKN

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that at the Leaders' Retreat of Indonesia and Singapore at the Bogor Palace on Monday, April 29, development was also discussed in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

The Foreign Minister said that in the meeting of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, a number of issues would be discussed, including food security, energy transition, and including development at IKN.

"Because many Singaporean companies have shown interest in collaborating with investment in IKN, including in the field of energy transition, especially for solar power," said Foreign Minister Retno when giving a press statement at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, quoted by ANTARA Friday, April 26.

Foreign Minister Retno explained that in the agenda of President Jokowi and PM Lee's meeting, the two leaders will examine the 10 years of cooperation that has been carried out, but at the same time ensure that the cooperation and continuity of good relations between the two countries continues.

PM Lee's visit to Indonesia to attend the Leaders Retreat was his last visit before he handed over the government to the new PM.

Likewise with President Joko Widodo where this year will be his last year in his 10 years of leadership.

Singapore's deputy prime minister, Lawrence Wong, who will continue the country's administration, was also present at the Leaders' Retreat.

"This shows how important bilateral relations are between Singapore and Indonesia," said Retno.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Retno accompanied President Jokowi to receive an honorary visit from Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Baskrishnan at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday, to discuss the preparations for the Leaders' Retreat in which Indonesia hosted this year.
