JAKARTA - Former Democrat Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaean suggested that President Joko Widodo should not interfere with the results of the Democratic Extraordinary Congress (KLB).
On Friday, March 5, the Democrat Party KLB in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, appointed Moeldoko as General Chair for the 2021-2025 period. Democratic Ketum Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono asked Jokowi not to endorse the KLB.
"I advise Pak @Jokowi not to intervene in any way and let this go the way it is," said Ferdinand on his Twitter account @ FerdinandHaean3, Saturday, March 6.
By law, the Democrat Party outbreak cannot be declared legal or not, legal or not. But politically, this KLB has become an opinion that is trusted by some of the public. Sy advised Mr. @jokowi not to intervene, and let this go according to the flow. pic.twitter.com/JXQcIKlPv6

According to Ferdinand, the Democrat Party KLB which appointed the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko as the Democrat Ketum could not be declared legal or not legally.
However, he continued, politically this KLB had become an opinion that was trusted by some of the public. Ferdinand said, the results of the KLB are still long and tortuous, until finally the law will decide who has the right to be ratified, whether Moeldoko or AHY.
"Still politically, this is indeed fast to build an opinion and the opinion is now formed that the current Democrat Ketum is Moeldoko. That's politics," he said.
As previously reported, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono asked the state and government officials not to allow the KLB activities to determine Moeldoko as the Democratic Chief.
"I respectfully ask President Joko Widodo, especially the Minister of Law and Human Rights, not to give legitimacy and legitimacy to an illegal KLB which is clearly against the law," he said.
Responding to this, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said that the government cannot prohibit or support party activities because this is regulated by law.
If the government blocks the Democrat KLB, it means violating Article 9 of Law Number 9 of 1998 concerning Freedom to Express Opinions in Public.
"There it is said that it is permissible for people to gather to hold a general meeting, as long as they meet certain conditions. The condition is not at the State Palace, nor in a place of worship, not at school, not in a hospital, not in the arena of vital objects because of the situation," Mahfud.
