Hit By The Waves, KMP Reinna Passengers Fall In The Waters Of Rimau, South Lampung

LAMPUNG SELATAN - The joint SAR team is looking for passengers who fell from KMP Reinna in the waters of Rimau Balak Island, Bakauheni District, South Lampung Regency on Wednesday, April 24 at 22:00 WIB.

"In initial information there was one person who fell from the ship around the waters of Rimau Island, we immediately coordinated with the relevant agencies, then deployed personnel from the Bakauheni SAR POST Rescue Team at 23:00 WIB," said Head of the Bakauheni SAR Post Rezie Kuswara, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 25.

He said one of the ship's passengers was reportedly crashed while in the waters of Rimau Balak Island, until now the joint SAR team is still searching for victims.

"The victim is known as Dede Saputra, who is from Serang, Banten, aged approximately 23 years and fell from KMP Reinna," he said.

He explained that the chronology of the incident began on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at around 22:00 WIB, that there were passengers who saw the victim with the characteristics of wearing white clothes falling at the stern of the ship.

Seeing the incident, the passenger reported to the crew of Reinna who then forwarded the information to BPTD Bakauheni Port.

"The tool used in the search is a Rescue Compt Unit, RIB 03 LPG, PPE, Alkom, and other supporting equipment," he said.
